The purpose of the Workshop is to promote the understanding of participants of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) options for the resolution of intellectual property and technology disputes. The workshop will focus on the conduct of mediation and arbitration procedures, with particular reference to the practical case application of the WIPO Mediation, Arbitration and Expedited Arbitration Rules in international intellectual property and technology disputes.

Day 2 - WIPO Arbitration - Tuesday, November 17, 2020, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET
Day 3 - Industry Perspective and Drafting of WIPO ADR Clauses - Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET
The Workshop will be conducted in English and will include presentations by WIPO mediators and arbitrators, with Q&A opportunities. After the Workshop, participants will have a better understanding of the substantive components of international mediation and arbitration, as well as their benefits and limitations for intellectual property and technology disputes as compared to other dispute resolutions options, in particular court litigation. In addition, participants will obtain practical information on the role of the WIPO Center, the WIPO Rules and practical guidance for drafting ADR clauses effectively. Participants who will attend all three sessions will receive a certificate of attendance.
The Workshop is designed for arbitration and IP lawyers, in-house counsels, patent and trademark attorneys, and business professionals wishing to familiarize themselves with international mediation and arbitration processes and to receive training as neutrals or party representatives.
